How Conny works

Better events for the people who run them. Deeper relationships for the people who come.

What Conny is

An event app that helps you meet the right people.

Conny does three things. It gets you to events worth your time. It helps you meet the right people while you're there. And the next morning, it makes sure you follow up.

Connections on Conny only form by meeting, at an event. The talking happens off Conny: over coffee, by email, on the phone. There's no feed to scroll and no chat to keep up with.

One profile, every event. Keep it up to date once, and it comes with you to every event on Conny, whoever is hosting.

Conny is

  • Events worth your time, each with its reason
  • People worth meeting, before you walk in
  • The people you met, with your notes, the next morning
  • One of you, across every organisation

Conny never

  • Runs a feed, a chat or a message board
  • Takes payment to suggest an event or a person
  • Gives sponsors an attendee or lead list
  • Lets anyone read your notes

How it works

Before, on the night, and the morning after.

Everything on Conny is there for one of these three moments, and each one ends with people meeting face to face.

Before

Get there.

  1. The invitationThe host sends you a personal link. Tap it and you're in. No password: to sign in again, Conny emails you a code.
  2. One questionWho are you hoping to meet? Say it in a line, if you like, and the people who can help find you.
  3. A week beforeWho's going (only people who said yes to being seen), and who Conny thinks you should meet and why. Pick the ones you'd like to meet. They only find out if they pick you too.
  4. The day beforeYour people, and the practical bits: where, when, parking.

On the night

Meet people. Jot one line.

  1. At the doorChecked in by name or by your badge. Not on the list? Scan the door code and join on the spot.
  2. Scan to connectScan someone's badge with your phone and you're both connected.
  3. Who's hereWho's there, with the people who fit what you're looking for first.
  4. One lineA note on anyone you meet, so you remember why. Only you will ever read it.

The morning after

Follow up.

  1. 8amThe people you met, with your notes beside them.
  2. Beside each personCall, email, or propose a catch-up, drafted from your own note. You send it, never Conny.
  3. Three days laterA nudge to look at anyone you marked to follow up.

Then the next event. The people you meet stay with you. Next time, Conny uses who you already know when it suggests who to meet.

Online, join the call from your event page and tap I've joined. After you talk with someone, tap We met beside their name. When they tap it too, you're connected. Until then, nobody is told.

How it all connects

One of you, every event.

Organisations bring you to events. Events are where you meet people. The people you meet are yours, whoever hosted the event.

If you come to events

Arrive knowing someone. Stay connected after.

  1. Get inTap the invitation from the host. Signing in again is a code by email.
  2. Say who you hope to meetOne line. Add more to your profile whenever you like.
  3. Find your next eventEvents shows what's coming up near you and further afield, each one approved by the Conny team, and the events of organisations you follow. Nobody pays to be there.
  4. MeetScan badges, and jot a line about each person.
  5. Follow upAt 8am, your people and your notes, with a way to call, email or meet.

You choose who sees what.

Every part of your profile has its own level. Your email and phone are for your connections unless you say otherwise.

Your notes on people are locked to you in the database. Not the host, not the Conny team, not any AI. What else that means is on What Conny stands for.

If you host an event

Conny does the emails and the introductions. You run the room.

A host is the organisation running an event, acting through its people. Each event has one lead host, who can bring in other hosts and give them parts.

Running it online? Use your own video call, with breakout rooms or small groups so people talk. Add the link and Conny gives it to the people on your list on the day. Is Conny right for your event?

If you run an organisation or a group

Keep your own events. Reach the people who came.

A chamber, a network, an association, a club, a community that meets. Big or small, formal or not: if your people meet and come back, Conny fits.

Your own page, and your followers.

Your organisation gets its own page on Conny: what you do, your town, your website and your events coming up, with your organisation lead as the person to talk to. No member list and no counts.

Keep an event to the people who follow you, or ask the Conny team to list it for everyone on Conny. Running an event with another organisation? Give each host the parts they need. The attendee list stays with the organisation running the event.

Getting started.

The Conny team approves every organisation on Conny. Who we work with, and the lines every organisation keeps, are on What Conny stands for.

Already on Conny? Ask to set up your organisation from You, at the bottom of your profile, and the Conny team will check it. Not on Conny yet? Tell us about your events.

Questions people ask

Before you ask.

  1. Is Conny free?Coming to an event you've been invited to is free. When Conny starts charging, how it works will be written down on About Conny, and it will never be by selling your information, selling placement or giving sponsors anything from an event.
  2. Will people know if I pick them?Only if they pick you too.
  3. Does Conny sell my data? No. Conny never sells your information and never sells placement. Sponsors get nothing from an event: no attendee lists, no lead lists, no results.
  4. Does Conny's AI send messages for me?No. Conny's only AI drafts your profile, and only when you ask. Your catch-up message is built from your own note by simple rules. Nothing goes out unless you send it.
  5. Can I delete everything Conny has about me?Yes. Download everything about you, or delete your account, whenever you like. Deleting takes everything that's yours, not just your profile.
  6. Do I have to change how I sell tickets? No. Keep your own ticketing. Conny brings in your attendee list, and never sells tickets or takes a cut. Paid events and free ones both fit.

Tell us what you think

Every screen ends in a real meeting.

Every page has a Feedback button in the corner. Tell us what works, what doesn't, or what you wish a page did. The Conny team reads every note.
